And don't forget the telegraph poles. they are needed for teams to transmit the morse code that Dave has provided to signal the robots.

Once you have signaled the robot to use its fishing pole then the robot can avoided the dreaded pole hole and and use the fishing pole to catch moonfish from the water hole.

So there are actually two purposes for the water and multiple instances of poles.
