catapult is a very non-specific term.
there are many different types and forms of catapults:
-Trebuchet:
----Floating arm
----Fixed arm
-Torsion catapult
----Balista, Scorpion, etc. as well as the stereotypical 'catapult'
-Steam catapult
----launch aircraft off short runways
-magnetic catapult
-etc.
all of these fall under the category of "CATAPULT"
