Chief Delphi is not a place for dirty laundry, and we appreciate that you've kept names out of this, and the post civil. My suggest is to go read JVN's paper on Weighted Objective tables, and use that for your design choices. It's a slightly "objective" design choice tool, and may help your team agree on a course of action.
