FRC Q&A Clarifies use of "Carrier' boards with Cypress FirstTouch Board

We have received many inquires concerning the use of the Cypress Carrier Board for the 2010 FIRST Robotics Competition.

FIRST has made it very clear in Team Update #4 and a subsequent GDC post in the FRC Q&A that the Cypress Carrier Board is LEGAL.

Team Update 4 specifically states...
Section 8 – The Game, Rev D has been updated to include the following edits:
<R82> Teams are permitted to connect a portable computing device (Laptop computer, PDAs, etc.) to the DRIVER STATION for the purpose of displaying feedback from the ROBOT while participating in competition MATCHES. Portable computing devices may only connect to the DRIVER STATION through one of the USB ports or through the First Touch I/O module (or a carrier board for the First Touch I/O module) the breadboard – they shall not connect to the DRIVER STATION through any other port.

The FRC Q&A further clarifies by answering the question posted by 2010FRC3126...
