I just got back from the first meeting of the preseason and found out what our project is...I think it's pretty cool. We got a grant to develop an agricultural version of a FIRST project called FARMbots. This is a multi-year project and this is the first year. Here is the goal for the next couple of years...
Year 1:
Modify this
John Deere SST16 so that it will drive into a field with added sprayers down, go a distance, raise the sprayers, do a 180, lower sprayers, and return back. We will be modifying it to do this with or without an operator.
Year 2:
Either using the same John Deere or another tractor, modify it so that it will do an automated run, spraying a section of a field using GPS coordinants.
This thing is fun to drive....I'm looking forward to this project!
