We obviously haven't lost anything to snow since 1984, but the heat... This has been one of the hottest weeks in the records. Heat index was consistently above 110 F for most of the week. Wednesday at
1 AM the temperature was 97 F, humid and no sign of breeze whatsoever - who knows about heat index at that time.
Other than damaging the air conditioner and making life miserable, the only drawback was we had to leave early yesterday because of a minor blackout in our area. Wednesday was so hot a local sports commentator passed out live on TV...
