I've seen a couple of drivers listening to iPods while they drive. They generally have an earbud in the ear away from the coach so that they can still listen.

I'm not sure if it's legal or not, but I personally don't see an issue with the driver trying to calm his/her nerves during a match with a little Coldplay.
