2. There are at least two different classes, depending on whether you want to use Spike relays or the cRIO digital sourcing "solenoid" module to control them.

3. The Festo valves I am familiar with are physically large, have manual control levers that are relatively hard to activate, and have annoyingly unique electrical connectors. SMC parts have other tradeoffs.
