how this was made

al right originally I took an old model that had already been made and I took a long time to tweak it using edit mesh. however i felt a little bad about using something that wasn't made by scratch so I used a program that we were experimenting with last lsat year and I made a different head. this program is alled poser and is made by Meta creations? anyways I found that it was really helpful cause it gives a bunch of options when making a person, but it is impossible to import moving animation of the person into max. so for something like this, i could export to 3ds and then apply a little bit of edit mesh to the surface so i could tweak the head a little bit, mainly to apply some bumps to the top of the head to make it look more lke it was cast from metal. the material is just basically a smoke map that has high shinyness, and the eyes are done in video post using 2glows and a highlight selected on a brightness. the flame coming out of the eyes is just a volume light with some noise.

the mouth is closed in this model

and one more thing, I have noticed that there are way more views to these posts than there are replise. I'm kinda hoping that someone else might start posting progress, instead of just watching what other people do and than never say anything. so let's see someone else's axe
