Just a short safety note…my mom is deaf and at the competitions we all look out for her. Someone will say “Robot coming through” and because she doesn’t hear, she often gets jostled about. Last year we finally pinned a button to her back that states “I am Deaf” and it did seem to help.
In doing my pre-scouting, I see that we are welcoming rookie Team 3162, RoBoComm-X, to the Fingerlakes Regional and they are from a deaf school. Please take a moment and discuss with your teams the importance of not assuming you are being heard when you ask someone to step aside. Thanks and see ya there!  |
Yes RoBoComm-X are an amazing lot of people. We have the pleasure of sharing Bausch and Lomb's facilities with them and I am sure both our robots will do well thanks to Ron Borden and all of the mentors at Bausch and Lomb.
