Ah, good questions.
The LED light strips were purchased at Ikea, of all places. We've used this same set for two years.
The Dewalt is actually a FP motor in Dewalt drill housing driving a Dewalt transmission. Search for the " Nothing but Dewalts" white paper for details.
The fifth wheel is our little bit of magic. We use it to improve our align-ability and maneuverability. We can pivot in a circle around the ball while keeping it in contact with the robot.
