Re: Kettering district 10'

Let me just say from everyone at Team 910 that Kettering was a blast! Sure there were field problems with the counter, and twice we had shakey control/radio issues, but that's somewhat to be expected at the first event. Overall, the queuers were very friendly, the volunteers nice, the judges and refs VERY easy to work with and talk to, and the competition quite good for week one! Hey, teams there set and broke records for country-wide high scores more than once!

Thanks to 67 for picking us. If we had traded #1 and #2 spots, you were our first pick too! We made a fantastic team and we set a new world-wide high-score with 15 points - all balls too!

Team 70 - What a super pick! Both Hot and we had you on our list and kept praying nobody would pick you and it was a LONG wait as the serpentine made its way all the way down and back. We were thrilled to see you available to be our partners and you did everything we KNEW you would. Stellar defense and great zone control!

To our opponents, 33, 894 and 2619 you were a great #2 alliance! That long shot of 2619 was deadly and 33, you were just a mad scoring machine! Way to go and what a great clean match. Like Jim always says to me, "Is this FUN or WHAT?"

One last thing I'd like to point out is how FIRST is so different than any other competition out there. Here's an example... Team 33 - our opponents in the finals loaned us a 3 turn pot to put on our robot. We loaned our lead programmer to team 894 to help them get their robot working because they had no working code. So, both of us helped each other out. Is that coopertition and gracious professionalism or what? What a super example to set for out students... Yeah, it's great to win, but even greater to help others!
