Re: Most Offensive Regional/ M District

We 2834 were in that match with 67 and 33 at Kettering that Adam was talking about and we got that 34 points also. We were also very fortunate to get crushed by 910 12-2 in one match getting 12 points for losing. (This system is very messed up)

One thing I feel that Michigan teams will play differently comparing to the rest of the regionals is that Michigan teams play to win. This is because of the way how we qualify for State Championship. Win gets 2 points and losing just to get high seeding scores gets 0 points towards your ranking for qualifying for the State Championship. (I am glad we are in Michigan.) At Kettering, there was only 1 match that one alliance threw their last match to get higher seeding scores. We were tempted to do that at our last match but decided against it.

Despite FIRST GDC's good intention to encourage us to "cooperate" with other teams to get co-opertition points, it is against what I teach my students to do to always try their very best, even though there is no hope of catching up. Isn't that what sportsmanship is about? I refuse to play that game just to rank higher.
