Check for a short between heatsink and fan wires.

Okay, this may sound dumb, and it is, but I did it once. When connecting your fan to the power screws, make sure that the positive wire doesn't touch the heatsink -- it's negative! Doing so will short the victor, partially or fully fragging it. You probably won't even notice it until it's too late, like during a match. The Victor will perform erratically or just plain not function in certain situations, all of which are unique to the fragged Victor. Also, it's not the most Kosher thing to attach a variable current motor to a Spike; I'd advise against using it for long periods. But the number one thing to do is check your wiring before you turn it on and NEVER EVER DO WIRING WHILE IT'S HOT!!!!!!
