As someone who has made the trip from about where they are (I'm about an hour east of them) to Atlanta many, many times, it can about that long. I think the fastest we've ever made it was 11 hours, longest was about 17.
Games such as " I'm going on a trip" can be amusing, especially if you limit it to specific topics, such as team names. I'm also a personal fan on sleeping on the ride down, as that makes it go much faster. (If you're traveling though Ohio, this is when you should sleep! XD)
On that note, counting Awful Waffles works better the further south you are.
