I'm just making a quick suggestion, especially with urgent messages or even reminders. Our team uses something called alert now! The school has the system for school snow days and delays. You just input any and all phone numbers you want called and it places a phone call to the numbers with an automated update message. It works for us and you can easily monitor it.
