Re: How does your team scout?
Team 1676 comes from a district that provides its students with laptops, so we use a computer database to store our scouting data. At the arena we connect to the database using Ethernet cables (since wifi was banned we had to blast to the past) and fill out a scouting form that includes team number, match number, alliance color, abilities, goals scored, etc. Student are assigned one robot position and alliance color (for example: red defense) and they scout those robots for a few matches before switching off. We also offer all the match information to all other teams at a regional and other teams in our division at the World Championships.
As for pit scouting, we send a few students with their laptops to other teams pits and record robot specs on an Excel document- pretty basic.
