Why Did You Join Your Robotics Team?

Kids in Robotics are labelled as "nerds" and "geeks" and losers and stuff like that. Honestly NO ONE wants to be called that, or even labelled that. I did not even know about the existence of our team since this year (beginning of the school year) after I joined AP Comp Sci. And after I joined, I fell in love, despite the fact that it really is filled with people I would not personally hang out with outside the club, but there are some real cool kids on the team. I joined to get "real life" experience out side my house (Im a programmer) and I can say that I made a great decision. Really people have the stereotype that I am a "Dumb Asian", Im on the Football team, and the Track Team and I'm a gym rat, and I can say that I don't get the best grades, but I am smart, just lazy. People see me and think "Holy Crap hes a big Asian" and don't ever think I program They get surprised when I tell them how old I really am and that I program...
