Announcing Project Falafel/FLFL

Project Falafel or FLFL is a new robotics competition, a preparational competition for the FRC in Israel, starting up this year. It is similar to OCCRA and Bunny Bots in the states. The idea is to give the teams in Israel those same opportunity, to improve their use of tools, develop their skills and gain experience.

(A teaser was posted here last week)

The competition is being organised in cooperation with FIRST Israel by alumni from multiple teams together. The general concept is a new FRC-like season, building new robots, mainly from spare parts that teams already have. A Game Design Committee has been assembled, and a new mission will be given. There are a couple of major differences though: The season will be longer, and the robots slightly less complex. We are talking about an 8 week long season (from mid-September to mid-November) so that teams can have a relaxed season without the intensity of the FRC. We are also working on reducing costs to teams...

More information will be posted as it comes, mainly (for Israeli teams) through emails to the team contacts, and to our facebook group!

If you have any ideas or suggestions for the competition, feel free to post them. If you have any game ideas you want sent to the GDC (of course, for those outside of Israel) you can send them to me as a PM and I will pass them on to the GDC (it kinda defeats the purpose to post them on a public forum)
