While I, personally, would prefer a horse in the trailer to a robot, I don't think much customizing is needed. Just leave the horse out; it would prefer not to ride in the trailer, anyway.
In my former workplace years ago, the bosses ordered a used computerized phototypesetting machine. It was about the size of a large desk, and rather heavy. It was specially shipped from Seattle to Hermosa Beach, CA, in--you guessed it--a horse trailer! One end of the machine had a long, curving gouge on it. I liked to think that it could have been damaged by a horse kicking it.
