There are quite a few places nearby. You just weren't looking in the right places.

Try looking near the Capitol building--there's a few places along that park. There's a few more in some of those office buildings. If I can get that map from the handbook for that conference, I might just scan it and put it in this thread...
Laclede's Landing: When I was in St. Louis for a conference last winter, we were told that you don't want to go into that area after dark--and this was a bunch of college students. Good idea to go in with a big group.
