[FTC]: Using rope on the robot

The other day we were finishing somethings on our robot, 3750, and we're using a winch to pull up our arm. For this we of course are using rope, we're currently using some 1/8" nylon rope but originally we had some 1/8" twine we were using and it kept braking. I work up at a boyscout camp and teach things like knots and rope making so I took the 1/8" twine and made it into 3/8" rope. Would this be legal to use? In my opinion yes because it is something we manufactured with allowed materials, but we wanted to be safe and use the nylon. So what do you guys think?
