Just a minor amendment to the 3rd bullet:
3. Repeat until you've talked to every company within driving distance.

Nearly every team parent works somewhere. Some of our best sponsors come from places where team member parents work.

What worked for us: Send a packet to the company, ideally to a specific person (parents are helpful here, or just call and ask for a name), but if not, then the "corporate giving office" or "Public Relations" manager. Then, 5 days later, phone them to ask IF they got your packet, and if there are any questions you can answer, and when would be a good time to meet them and possibly demonstrate the robot.

Sounds corny, but dang if it don't work.
