It's an interesting place for a stack overflow to occur. It doesn't seem likely that a problem with the code could cause this error, but have you checked for infinite loops?
1. yes, and the first time i used netbeans for anything other than autocomplete
2. I have no idea, I created a new project from the simplerobottemplate
