Sending 3 champions (plus chairman's plus rookie all-star) home after every event helps raise visibility in the schools & communities; also the automatic invites for 5 teams from each regional to the Championships helps boost the number of quality participants, and by extension, excitement level.
Not only that, the teams live for the chance to see their creation in operation. Win, lose, or draw, it can be exciting to watch your baby compete. (Of course, winning is a lot more fun!) And the more often you run, the better!
