A look back at 2001

College Student on team #639, Red B^2, from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.
We've had a number of threads about what we thought of this year's game... But the game aside, what were the most enjoyable moments of the 2001 season?
The best moment, for me, was when I stepped onto our bus to leave for the New York City regional. It was at this moment that I knew all my efforts to get a team started were worth it. Regardless of how we would end up doing (we ended up doing quite poorly), I knew that there were about 15 high school students (and some college students and even adults) who had a different outlook because of the team. Lots of the students joined the team completely unsure of what they wanted to do in life -- and this is when I realized that almost all of them were much more focused than before. Many found some specific area of the team that they're interested in working in, and they're all eager to get going for next year. I want to thank everyone here for the support that you have provided -- whether it be fundraising advice or revealing "trade secrets"... This forum has provided in invaluable source of support. I look forward to the post-season and the upcoming season.
