Go to Post Pro safety tip: put a string through coil springs that is tied off securely on the robot frame. This will help prevent the spring from jumping out and killing an inspector if it snaps. - Ninja_Bait [more]

Pre-competition predictions

Posted by Patrick Dingle at 03/26/2001 8:33 PM EST

Coach on team #639, Red B^2, from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.

Back in January, many of us predicted what we thought would be the average qualifying scores for this game. Now it is time to look back at what fools we all are!

Matt Lease -> 50
Joe Johnson -> 50-100
Ken Leung -> 200
Patrick Dingle -> 200
Joe Ross -> 200
Nick T240 -> 400-480
Samual Lindhorst -> 300-420
Marjory Stager -> 300

From what I've seen, the actual average scores have been between 70 and 150, depending on the regional. Like Joe predicted, they have gotten higher towards nationals. Click the link below to see the original thread.

Well, I may have been wrong but I guess the only comfort I can take is that everyone was wrong with me. And I think Pat put my name on top just to make sure everyone saw I was wrong.

Matt who needs to work on his psychic ability for predicting next year's game

I would like to go on record as predicting the results of next years game.
The winning 12 team aliance will have 4 black boxes balanced on the four center cones, acumulated 34feet of
rope, climbed over the 10 foot wide 15 foot deep fire pit, ate 200 hot dogs, drank 174 cans of Dew and cashed in all the refunds in less than 4 seconds.
Beat that Mark.
