It makes perfect sense tho.

Last year the rule was that your drive train couldn't chew up the carpet. That rule was ignored in a big way by lots of teams. And, the ref's didn't enforce it. End result = lots of competition carpets are chewed up. So, now it will be harder to do this.

Also, the polycarbinate at the top scatches fairly easily, you got metal cleats running over that, watch out.

People just need to be more creative now that screws and cleats are out
