Hooking up Controller to computer for programming.

I am wondering if this is the wrong forum... anyways, here goes:

Just how are you supposed to hook up the controller to a computer, for programming? I couldn't find anything that said exactly what port it was. I believe its 'Dashboard', but i just want to be sure... don't want to fry a 3000$ piece of equipment.

[Note to Admin]: And it just happened again! I hit 'submit', and it says 'no thread specified'. I hit the back button on my broswer, and come back to this screen.

Now, if this will happen like it always does, the next try (clicking on Submit) should work...
