You crazies.... I can punch LEXAN and not hurt my hand... yeah... I'm kinda strong... but anyone can bend a 1/8" piece of lexan... the thing DOES yield, ya know... acutally, you can bend it 360 degrees.

Interesting experiment... bend a 12" piece of LEXAN 360 degrees, put it in a clamp, and hit it with a claw hammer... It's really fun!
Oh... wear safety glasses for protection

Love that LEXAN... you can also crease it with a sheet metal break to 90 degrees and it gets super-strong.... you can see more of our bent LEXAN and stuff on our robot... come check us out at the GA and UCF regionals!

In conclusion... LEXAN (bent) or any other polycarb is GREAT at absorbing shocks... it's nice and springy... and bulletproof too! (LEXAN, not the polycarb)

Take some time out from robotics and shoot a .22 at some Lexan... it stops a couple of bullets...
