The way that I see it, is that you have nothing to lose by just going up to a girl and talking to her, especially at a robotics competition. I mean, you could always avoid her later if you do anything stupid.. lol.

Us Robotics Girls
The more original and more goofy you are the better though. I mean don't use a "lame" pick-up line on a robotics chick, she might be the one running away from laughter!! Guys that come up to me and start an interesting conversation I will at least sit and talk to them if nothing else. You just never know when you might start a conversation and then a month later still be having that conversation with the same person!!
Some food for thought!! |

Hehe...if I step near a girl they repel away, I think. It makes it quite easy to walk through malls, though.
![]() How do you people even find time to talk to other people at competitions? Sheesh. (I don't understand why guys always have to start the conversation...) |

Time.....
There is always time to scope out the guys and or girls at competitions. I mean hotels, local malls, and don't forget lunch time. If I spot someone I'd like to chat with at a competition they hey there goes me walking toward them. You shouldn't be affraid what is the worst that could happen......they say no and blow you off. Well, then in that case they are the downfall of the FIRST program because you have to be able to talk and present all ideas to other people and be able to spread and enjoy the world of FIRST. They don't know what they are missing out on if this happens.

All of which are better than:
You must have a mirror in your pants, because I can see myself in them... |

Here's a tip.
Pick up lines never work - especially if she's smart. Pick up lines never work even more at FIRST events, where the girls are smarter than average. Although, ChewyMasterFlex's library card one is pretty good. That's not terribly insulting - the mirror in the pants one however, just makes you look like a jackass. |
