Cool How many pistons are we allowed to use?

Number of Pistons/Pneumatic Cylinders

It's either 5 or 7.

I think 7, the 3 from the kit, and an additional 4 you can buy...

Exclamation 1 + 4 = 5 cylinders ........

There is only one cylinder in the kit + you can order 4 = 5.

The other two "cylinders" that are in the kit are actually accumulator tanks that store a volume of compressed air.

But on the FRCTech2002 board, they said 7, so I assume you are able to get 2 more from anywhere.

We've only seen one pneumatic cylinder and two pneumatic storage tanks. The only cylinder was the very long one.

FRC2002 group

on the FRC group on yahoo it says 7 but the question that we have is if we don't like the one that was given to us and we can only custom order 4 from first. can the others be from anywhere? and if so does anyone have a relable distributer of pistons?

Question # of cylinders

I wish that when I awoke tomorrow FIRST will have clarified the question of HOW MANY PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS CAN APPEAR ON YOUR BOT ? ARE WE ALLOWED TO PURCHACE ADDITIONAL VALVES? Three valves does not give us independent control of a potential 7? cyls. Since our teams design is incorperating pneumatics for the first time, this grey area of info is hurting our design process. Elgin Clock is to post the question tonite so lets keep our fingers crossed. If this question has already been answered accuratly please e-mail me @ kurtbot@yahoo.com

Additional Valves? I don't think so.

As to cylinders, I assumed that there were 3 in the kit we had shipped to us, but when I looked for it, we only had one plus 2 tanks, as others have already noted. I am as baffled as anyone.

I suppose that the final answer will be 5 cylinders (1 in kit + 4 more to be ordered), but hey, what do I know...
