While you may be able to get a response through the CD forums, I think your team will have much better chances of recieving a sponsorship by writing up a formal letter and submitting it to nearby companies. Even companies that have nothing to do with robotics are great (Pepsi, Burger King, pizza places.. all can save the team money on things not specifically dedicated to robotics. Can even be able to have more team dinners during build sessions).

But again, I would say write up a formal letter. In most situations, you have to initiate contact and a short thread on a public forum may not be considered adequate by many compaines.
