Thumbs up Lone Star Regional!!!

238 what?!?!?!? We are heading down south to Houston in 16 days!! I believe we are the farthest team away from the competition site, but we will def represent NH like its our job!! Sickest of the sick we will be!! Who else is going, if you are, give it a hollar in this thread!! The Ramada Inn across the street is going to be crazy all night long!! Oh yea if anyone from around the area knows of like good restaurants and stuff, could you let us know, we are clueless as of what is in Houston!! Being from New England, yea yea, we dont go to Texas too often!!

Team 1108 will be there to represent Kansas. All the other kansas team went to st. Louis. Being one of the seniors that started the team this year and having substate basketball on the weekend of SLR wouldn't have worked so we're in Houston. Can't wait to see everyone down there. I know it will be great. I just hope our robot will make a showing. Good luck to everyone, and maybe some of us will be able to see each other in Houston the next week (I hope it is us so bad). We are within a mile of the competition, not sure what hotel though.

118 will be there...

..or here, I guess.

Also, everybody needs to make a good showing for my parents, who will be driving down from Indiana to see their first FIRST competition.

Not that I doubt the LSR or anything, but I just felt like I had to throw that in there?

Team 624 lives here (well, we live in Katy, a suburb of Houston), and we're going.

As a matter of fact, there really is not much to do in Houston (I'm sure many people will disagree, but oh well). As far as entertainment, Astroworld really sucks (there are only 2 decent rides and that's it). Of course, anybody who wants to join us at the Less Than Jake concert Thursday night is welcome!

Restaurants? I don't really know that area too well. The only fast food restaurant (for like lunch or something) in plain sight is a Mc Donalds, and everything else is hidden about 2 blocks north (away from the freeway). There's also an Olive Garden up there too. I believe that if you head west on 610, there are some good restaurants on the south side (the opposite side of the freeway), like Pappadeaux's, Pappasito's, and Joe's Crab Shack. Actually, if you go here:

http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypMap.py?Pyt=Typ&tuid=7948834&ck=2613841568&tab=B2 C&tcat=95891929&city=Houston&state=TX&country=us&m sa=3360&slt=29.763170&sln=-95.362587&cs=4&stat=:pos:0:regular:regT:1:fbT:0

and click on restaurants, then all restaurants, you can find all of the other ones that are nearby.

I hope that's some help. See y'all there!
