Go to Post Well I have to admit, most of the people on our team are geeks. I think that it's a title of honor considering it might as well be "boss" or "head supervisor" or something along those lines. - Cyberguy34000 [more]

Ask and you shall receive (WASH w/ SOAP)

Team 111 with the help of 108, and with input from 45, 74, 109, 168, and others is currently working on WASH 2002. WASH is a scouting system that captures data for all matches of every robot. All teams that use WASH to scout take shifts using our PalmOS database, sync up with our PC database, and in return get full access to the data & summary sheets (by means of copies of the PC database). This collaborative effort means that teams scout less and get more data, which is always nice

WASH also plans to upload all the data we capture to SOAP (Team 108), who will then make it public on their website http://www.soap108.com They will have pages that give rankings and summaries of robots, their capabilities, and a rating of those capabilities. Seperate from WASH, they will digitize videos of matches and keep track of match scoring, standings, and awards. Did I miss anything Kenny?

Team 111 will definately use WASH at GLR, MWR, and Nats. Other teams have shown interest in using it at KSC, Buckeye, WMR, St Louis, and UTC so there's a possibility that WASH will be at those competitions as well. Contact me if you want more information or want to join us.

That's my advertisement. I'm a humble guy, so I don't like to 'talk up' my own team's scouting system. I prefer to let it speak for itself, but sometimes it's necessary in order to inform others and get our name out.

Since WASH is still in development, we don't have anything ready for public consumption yet. If you email me, I can give you a peak at the work in progress or last year's system (Mike.Soukup@motorola.com).

Mike
