you really cant underestimate the impact that the competition part of FIRST has on the program and the students.
Ive seen teams try to get the students and mentors involved in off season activities, like fixing up last years bot, building a test platform for the drives, ect and these things often fizzle. Somehow knowing that you are going to take what you are doing and compete against someone else with it really puts the spark back in peoples eyes. Excellent idea! |
