A suddenly dangerous spoiler in the form of the Monkeys come looking to knock off Your Team Name who's producers on offense are up against some tough matchups this week particularly Drew Bledsoe vs. an opportunistic K.C. defense at Arrowhead and Fred Taylor vs. the stingy Titans D. Trent Green may have an easier time of it agaisnt the Bills D at home and Thomlinson and Boston are on a Monday night showcase agaisnt a Dolphin D that has been a little dissapointing.

Green and Tomlinson pulled a BIG game for me this week. The Bills' D didn't put up much of a fight for KC's offence. That left the field wide open for Green to throw the ball. Miami spanked the Chargers last night. Somehow Tomlinson managed to pull a 20FP game out of it though. Congrats to all this week!

Of course, if Brees has a bad game, chances are Fiedler would have a good game, and had I put him in over Maddox, it'd all be a moot point anyway.
What?? What?? I can't hear you over all my winning haha sorry, this will be the only time I can brag so I am The Scrawny White guys win by 1 point... close match up.

Well needless to say, I think I had a pretty good week for fantasy football. Despite the first loss of my beloved Vikings (what a heartbreaker) everything else all seemed to come together for a high scoring weekend.

Next week my team, which relies greatly upon the success of the Vikings, will be playing Ricky, who's team is primarily built up by the Packers. Hey, what do you know...the big time rivalry between teh Packers and the Vikings comes to the Metrodome this weekend. I'm excited.

On the plus side, I'm not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet. If I win out, I can still make at least 8th.

Weekly Hottest-

QB- Peyton Manning (Philly Cheesesteaks)- 45 pts
For the record, I am not biased with this choice. Manning simply had more points than any other quarterback, and I believe more than any other player.

QB’s- Trent Green and John Kitna (Coco’s Monkeys)- 37 and 35 pts
Both Green and Kitna turned in impressive numbers, pairing large pass completions with touchdown passes. Isn’t it ironic that the manager who (sic) didn’t tend his team for the first few weeks ends up with a stud offense?

RB- Priest Holmes (R.I. Electrons)- 23 pts
The Friar again scored three touchdowns, bringing his season total to 12 after only 8 games. Pity the Commish won’t have him for next week- he’s truly burning this league up

RB’s- Stephen Davis and Shaun Alexander (Scrawny White Guys)- 18 and 16 points
Neither of those guys are scrawny…. and wait a minute, they’re not white… I can tell those two will be on this list rather often, as they are both among the league’s best running backs.

WR- Randy Moss (Pinman)- 22 pts
Moss is back to his terrifying form, hauling in touchdown passes at his normal pace. Here he matches 7 receptions with 125 yards and two scores, albeit no celebrational dance. Anyone remember how he sprayed a poor little kid with a water bottle last year?

WR’s- Ike Hilliard and Reggie Wayne (ValleyGirls)- 23 and 20 points
Whoa! Most people don’t even have a receiver get 20 points in an entire season, but ValleyGirls had two receivers do so in one week. How much luck is that? Lucky for her Hilliard hasn’t had to face Brian Dawkins this year… for those of you who know what happened..

K- Matt Stover (ValleyGirls)- 13 points
Only four field goals and two PAT’s made, but nonetheless 13 solid points many teams could have used

Defense- Kansas City (ValleyGirls)- 25 points
3 sacks, 5 interceptions, oh wait, and 2 fumbles… How is this humanely possible? The most ironic thing is that Kansas City is home to Dante Hall, the human magician who garners most of the return touchdowns in the league, yet KC only had 38 return yards in this game.. Believe it..

Defensive Player- Ben Taylor (Scrawny White Guys)- 16 points
Taylor got 16 tackles in this game, which is equalivent to making every tackle in three drives. Impressive.

Overall Team- ValleyGirls- 164 pts
Sheesh… This eclipses the prior record by quite a few points, and proves what teamwork does. Remember this people, there is no I in team. And don’t listen to that fool Leon (There ain’t no we in team either), even though he is in the best commercial this season has presented.

Best Commercial- That Leon Commercial… you gotta see it…

Crap I lost, I guess David Carr is no Brett Favre, and having 5 players scoring nothing made a bad week. I was within 10 though, could have been worse.

Week 8 results:

Scrawny White Guys (1-6) d. R.I. Electrons (3-4)
93-92
Lets face it, the Electrons are in a downward spiral. Losing three straight coming into this week (all by margins of less than 10), Rhode Island looked to capitalize on their opponent's 1-6 record. They were dead wrong. While R.I. dominated the defensive side of things, and Priest Holmes was excellent as usuall, Tommy Moddox had a mere 15 to contribute. The White Guys outdid the Electrons in receiving by 5, and running by 6, and a Kickerless game for both teams (which probably cost R.I.) meant Drew Brees's 10 (yes, a lousy 10) on Monday was just enough to propel the Scrawny White Guys to a second victory. Rhode Island prettymuch needs to win out now to make the playoffs.

CB234 (5-2) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-2)
92-80
Yay, defense! CB had San Francisco score 12 (while the Cats had Green Bay on a bye), the difference in this game. Lack of a RB probably killed the Cats too, losing in that category by 6. In fact, they even took receiving by a margin of 11. A close QB matchup had the Cat's take a 1 point difference. Kicking ended up being in CB's favor (12-7). Total defense was close (26-25). Actually, it was a much closer game than the score says. But the X-Cats could've used Green Bay.

Nor Cal Crushers (2-5) d. -To Be Determined-(3-4)
81-75
TBD had Brad Johnson outscore Quincy Carter by 13... and that was all TBD had going for them. While there was nothing that really stood out for either team, the fact that the Crushers outscored TBD in everything except at QB was what gave them the win.

ValleyGirls (6-1) d. Dunedain (4-1-2)
164-95
Where do I start for the ValleyGirls? Culpepper with 27? Maybe Ike Willard with 23 and Reggie Wayne with 20? No? Then how does Kansas City with 25 sound? Perhaps Domanick Davis scoring 18 is more your type? Oh sure, Hines Ward took 20 for Dunedain, and Tom Brady had a 25, and Dunedain conglomerated their forces well. But 95 isn't enough today. A huge 69 point victory for the ValleyGirls against a good team like Dunedain all but cements their position in the playoffs.

Bane (2-4-1) d. Cooney Quest (4-2-1)
71-61
With both teams missing a receiver, Cooney missing a running back, and two non-existant QBs, we turn to defense. Cooney really fumbles here, having three byes. Two people put up 10 for Bane there, enough for a win.

Pinman (0-7) d. 29 Patriots (1-6)
104-93
For those of you who though you were delusional a second ago, I'll say it again: Pinman (0-7) d. 29 Patriots (1-6). While not exactly an upset when it's coming against the next worst team in the league, a win is a win. While Pinman's running had us worried with a combined -3, they picked it up in receiving with Randy Moss scoring 22. A combined 24 in receiving versus a 6 makes up that 13 difference in running, as the rest of the game was fairly close. So, can we go for two straight?

Philly Cheesesteaks(7-0) d. Hurricanes (4-3)
93-79
As long as Peyton Manning is still throwing, Philly is still winning. He had 45. Jeff Garcia only had 24 for the Hurricanes. They tried to catch up, and even dominated the rest of the offensive game, pulling more-or-less even until we get to the defense. Even then, Miami killed Minnesota 22-5. But the Hurricanes had two byes and a 0 put up, with only 7 the rest of the way. A combined 30 by the Cheesesteaks proved to be too much.

Coco's Monkeys (2-5) d. Your Team Name (6-1)
133-92
YTN had Joe Horn going for them with 20. A conglomerate versus conglomerate matchup only got out of hand in the running game. The Monkeys combined for 35 there. Trent Green also pulled in 37, helping the Monkeys to a second straight.

Chesapeake Cruisers (4-3) vs. Snowballs (2-5)
87-65
Yay, Chad Pennington! The Jets finally used him, and while he only contributed 13 for the Snowballs, it's better than a 0. Besides, that's 1 more than Jake Delhomme gave the Cruisers. Anyhow, the only good thing the Snowballs had was Torry Holt's 17. Five 0's on defense only put them in deeper. Speaking of defense, Chesapeake had a grand total of 45, a little over half their output. It's more then enough to put away the Snowballs.

Cool WEEK IX ANALYSIS

Koko's X-Cats (5-3) vs. R.I. Electrons (3-5)
the slumping X-Cats take on the stalled Electrons. Who will reverse their tailspin? For the Electrons to win they need Tommy Maddox to get out of his funk and stop making mistakes. No Priest Holmes to bail him out this week. Koko has a pretty solid advantage this week and if his players perform up to standard he should win easily.

-To Be Dtermined-(3-5) vs. Scrawney White Guys (2-6)
One of the more interesting battles in this matchup is which error-prone quarterback will hurt their team less? Kerry Collins for TBD or Drew Brees for the White Guys? Between the two Collins has the potential for big plays. Brees plays Martyball so he doesn't get all that many opportunities to make plays anyways. The White Guys still have that awesome one/two punch of Shaun Alexanader and Stephen Davis but Ricky Williams could have a big week against a Colts defense that struggles against power runners.

Dunedain(4-2-2) vs. No Cal Crushers (3-5)
Dunedain willbe without Brain Westbrook who is out for Sundays game with a high ankle sprain while the Crushers regain Micheal Bennet for the Vikings. Dunedain will need a good game from Tom Brady, Terrell Owne and Hines Ward to stay competitive this week.

Cooney's Quest (4-3-1) vs. Valleygirls (7-1)
The Quest get their shot at the rampaging Valleygirls who willsee one of their major contributors have their carries possibly cut back. Moe Williams was a good story this season but with the return of Micheal Bennet he will now have to split carries. He will still get to do those one yard end zone dives which make him worthwhile in Fantasy Football. The Quest need Brett Farve to play well in Minnesota. A place he does not play well in to keep it close because the Packers D will not slow down Daunte Culpepper. The Valleygirls are also in line for a big week from the Eagles D as they get to feat on the incompitient Falcons.

29 Patriots(1-7) vs. Bane (3-4-1)
With Bane going with Byron Leftwich vs. the Patriots going with Marc Bulger , Bane will have to rely on Marvin Harrison to supplement offense for the team. Someone will have to step up in the running game for these two teams.

Hurricane (4-4) vs. CB234(6-2)
The Huricane will have to do without Jeff Garcia and Marques Tuioasosopo will get a run at the hapless Detritos D. Chad Johnson is the Hurricane's best offensive player and will have to have a big day to keep this close. If Edgerrin James is productive today for CB234, this one is over early.

Your Team Name (6-2) vs Philly Cheesesteaks (8-0)
YTN is already at a disadvantage against the Cheesesteaks without shooting blanks at quarterback and defense. The Cheesesteaks advantage at quarterback and running back should be of greater concern.

Chesepaek Cruisers(5-3) vs. Coco's Monkeys (3-5)
The suddenly formidable Monkeys have dnagerous offensive lineup that could worry any team (including the Philly Cheesesteaks). The Cruisers need a good game from Jamal Lewis and a productive day from the Baltimore RAvens defense to get by.

Pinman(1-7) vs. Snowballs (2-6)
The monkey is finally off of Pinman's back and he was quickly rewarded with a get out of jail free card and is now out of the leauge basement. Now he gets another "soft touch" with the Ched Pennington reliant Snowballs who have very good players on offense and don't even bother with the defense. Their usually great running backs willbe heavily relied upon by their teams and by the SNowballs who have a significant advantage if they can make something happen. Pinman has tow players who could have monster weeks. Randy Moss aginst the soft Packers D at home and Matt Hasselback aginst the non-existnt Steelers pass D.

And I need to actually win. What's good is that the middle teams are exactly that: middle. If I win out, I still have a shot at 8th. thank god my fantasy score is pretty high despite the 5 L's in a row.

Weird...now that I look at my original roster and my current roster, I realized that I only have 4 of my original team as well. I guess lots of changes = good.
