Question Which teams are you looking forward to their robot?

Less than a week to go, not really any time to steal ideas. Good luck in the final push everyone

Scott mentioned this in another thread, and I though this is worth asking people about.

Which robots are you looking forward to see in action? Which robots are you "very anxious" to see?

No one can go to all the competitions and get to know which teams have really cool robots, so let's post some teams's name/number, and maybe we can look out for those robots extra hard at regionals or at Florida.

And, maybe with enough demand from folks around here, we can get some of those teams to actually post a picture or two. I know I will look forward to analyze the bots just like last year with 111's and this year with 60's.

Well, since Scott took a lot of my favs, I will start with a short list of my own...

Team 111 Wildstang, I am just going to stare at this forum or their website until they post a picture or movie.

Team 16, 312 The two Baxter teams, Bomb Squad and Heatwave, dominated KSC back at 2000... And Heatwave's big ball robot of last year balanced the goals with a really cool way... Can't wait to see great machines from these two.

Team 188 from the north. I was terrified when I saw their design from last year... So I eagerly await if they have a cool robot again.

And Team 25 with really creative robots... So creative that they won 2000 National championship.

Soon Ken, real soon. So you're the reason we're getting so much traffic recently

The only team I specifically want to see is the Technokats because I've been trying to get details out of Andy for a few weeks and haven't had much success. I want to see if my guesses are close.

In general, I want to see teams with unique designs and excellent ways to play the game better than everyone else. Last year there were a few teams that I've never heard of who floored me with their designs. I hope for the same this year, it's always the best part of the competition.

Mike

Yeah, WildStang!!!
Also lookin forward to seeing what you guys have come up with this year.
Team 857's "kiwi drive" is simply beautiful, can't wait to see their robot on the field.
Chief Delphi was really impressive in 2000 with their strafing skillz, I'm watching out for them as well.

And finally to answer Ken, we will be revealing stuff pretty soon. I guess I don't need to say "keep checking these forums" cuz I know you always are

(btw, kudos to 857 for their choice of music for the drive system video )

Robots to look out for

Of course I'm really looking forward to Heat Wave, they were in our winning alliance at Kennedy last year and the Gila Monsters (They played with us in the winning alliance at Langley, The Baxter Bomb Squad, They were sorely missed last year so I am really looking forward to seeing them again, Team 342 Bosch Charleston allways has a great machine, everyone definitely needs to look out for them, also Wildstang always has a great machine. Also for anyone who is interested we should be posting some pictures of our robot (Team 343 Metal in Motion) this Friday so check us out and take a shot at the 'Easy question of the day' to win a neat prize at the nationals (metalinmotion.com). Good luck to everyone !!

I'm looking forward to seeing all of them. Every year there are some suprises!

Along with the ones meantioned previously (45, 47, 111, and others, I'm looking forward to team 65, the Huskie Brigade (how can they top last year's in appearance?).

I'm especially looking forward to those 10 West Michigan Teams especially:

85 - Built on Brains (Yes my new team) last year winning 2 regionals, IRI, and 3rd in Florida was outstanding.

288 - RoboDawgs (my former team) - Always a favorite.

391 - the Titanium Rampage, with increased sponsor support and a brand new name.

858 - a the local rookie Delphi team has some excellent mentors and will likely do well.

I definately look forward to seein 116 and 122. Of course I want to see theirs, our team's a "second generation" team from all of the founding students originally from those teams. I can't wait to see ours work *thank god they get monday off from school.* And the list goes on....

825, 857, 60, 67, 190, 343, all the teams that beat us in divisional finals last year, etc etc etc.

Pretty much, I can't wait to see them all!
