Which teams are using a transmission this year

I was wondering what teams are using a transmission this year after early scouting reports indicate that a lot of teams are slow.

We have had our dual speed robots since 2000. We have gotten gear switching down. (not on the fly)

118 has a dual-speed transmission. High gear means up to 13fps, and low gear means it can push.... really.... hard.

We added limit switches to the motor mount position so that they trigger when it switches into gear. Means major cut down in both time to shift and tearing on the transmission.

Check out 195's transmission if any you get a chance. I was quite speechless for a minute after seeing it, but I don't want to steal their thunder.

195's tranny

the transmision on team 195 was incredible to say the least. I don't think they will be attending nationals, so team 195 if you're out there we will accept your transmission and use in in nationals for you so that all teams may behold the work of art that it is. not for our teams so gain, no, we want to spread the joy that is your tranny. in all seriousness folks you have to see that thing, it's amazing

Transmissions???/ We got plenty of stinking transmissions. 4 to be exact. 3 drill motors with stock transmissions and dual switching gear boxes and a globe with a custom transmission and a dual switching gear box for that as well.

For fps stats on our bot ??????????????? I have no clue.

Fast enough to get to the middle goal in 2 secs or under and slow and powerful enough to pull two goals and two other robots attached to those two goals. Count em' (2 goals and two other robots)

This is our first year with a transmission - pneumatically actuated, and it worked great! We have a speed sensor so we don't strip gears going from high to low. We use 2 chips and 2 drill motors on tank treads. We can do 12 fps in high and push anyone and anything in low gear. We also have a solenoid actuated drive train brake.

It was amusing to see 2 other teams getting judges awards at KSC for innovation and technical excellence for transmissions that "shift on the fly", because neither one of them actually worked at the competition!
