that was fun (rally in the valley)

i'd like to start off by saying i'm extremely tired. we just got home from rally in the valley. it is now 12:45am sunday, and i have been up since 6am friday. we had to leave at shortly after midnight on friday to get to lebanon by 7. it was a 300 mile trip.

i'd like to thank team 95 for letting us attend this competition, we had a lot of fun. we got a score of 162 in one of our qualification matches! we ended up tied with 121 for 1st with 103 average points, at first we were told that we were second because 121 had more wins than us. then we were told that we won because the tie breaker was the highest qualification score, they we were offically told that we were in second because we really had the average of 102.8

we picked team 195 for our alliance in the finals, and our third partner was a ghost team. that meant that us and 195 had to play every match. well, in the first match of the finals, we sheared a pin in our drive system. we lost that match. we only had a couple of minutes to fix it and we didn't bring any spare pins with us, so we had to go back on the field and find what was left of the pin. we found 1/2 of the pin and shoved it back in. fortunatley it stayed. the second match, everything went wrong. one of our grabbers fell out, causing us to loose all air pressure. and we sheared another pin. we lost that match too. i guess having a third alliance member would have helped since ours was't 100%.

well, thanks for letting us come, we had fun, it's now 1am, and i've been up for 43 hours, time for sleep. tomorrow we have to fix the robot to be ready for battle cry

I also agree that Ralley was quite fun, I'd like to complement team 271 on their Robot they have now knocked us out of the finals at UTC and Rally, and you can bet your bot i'd love a friendly rematch at Battle Cry. I'd also like to Apologize to team 131, we were their First pick and our robot didn't do as well as we had hopped. We filled in for the Missing team like 4 times and so our bot was a little beat up for the finals and ended up not working to hot....sigh.........oh well....Sorry Chaos..we'll fix it for Mayham .See you guys there.

Hey Chris no apology needed. We picked you guys because we knew that we could be competitive together. We also had our mechanical problems. Its the name of the game man. And definitely keep us in mind for Mayhem. Also think of some crazy strategies that we talked about, but never were in the position to use. See you guys soon.

Jestin

One of the teams was a no show, and we had to have teams sub in for them during qualification rounds. Teams that did so got no points for it, and had to fit it into a already very tight schedual.

Team 151 filled in at least 4 times. One of their members came up to me, asked how many more slots we needed to fill in, and signed up for every one of them they could. Remember that this ment they played about half again as many matchs as some of the other teams, often with two matchs in a row, with maybe 10 minutes in the pit before going back on again.

I was very impressed that teams were able to keep up with the pace we had to set. I was even more impressed with teams that where willing to play extra matchs just for the fun of it. You all made my job easier and helped us get through 27 qualification rounds. Best of all, we never had one delay because of teams getting on the field late or confusion about who was playing.

Thank you again to all the teams that attended and made my job as easy as it was, team 151 in peticular. I couldn't watch the matchs, but if they we're half as exciting as the pit's, it was one heck of a competiton.

It was no problem Andy, We had rookie drivers so the more practice they got the better, we all just had a good laugh that the mystery team ended up seeding higher than us. We knew u guys needed a hand to run things smoothly and we owed u guys for the motors, good luck for Rally next year.
