I am 100% sure that the outside thread is a 3/8-24 -- see McMaster.com under drill chucks. They come standard in 3/8-24 thread.

As to the inside thread, I am 95% that it is a left hand #10-24. BUT... I am also fairly sure that it is not a standard left hand thread. Something in my brain from days gone by tells me that it is a slightly enlarged thread. Anyway, you can buy left hand bolts from McMaster-Carr as well.

Go to McMaster.com & find part number: 91670A245

HOWEVER, I think you will be much happier if you buy the proper screw from the Bosch Drill Service center.

I have one on my desk at the office. I will get the part number and post it tomorrow -- remind me if I forget.
