VERY Off-Topic: Baker Baby Name... help!

Posted by Andy Baker at 02/23/2001 8:58 AM EST

Engineer on team #45, TechnoKats, from Kokomo High School and Delphi Automotive Systems.

As I've written before... my wife is pregnant with our third child.

We are at a loss for a name, boy or girl.

All of the "family names" are used up by cousins, so now it's down to what sounds good and what is appropriate for a Baker baby. We've got the baby name books, and spent much time putting names together... but nothing has really clicked yet. Even our 4 year-old has given input, but her suggestions of "Magenta, or Nixon, or Truman, or Thomas" don't fit well.

The kid is due in July, and we won't know between boy or girl until then... so we have plenty of time to find a good one.

Here's where you come in: give me suggestions. If we decide on a name that is suggested on this forum before Nationals, I'll buy the suggestor a Hercules Ice Cream Bar at Epcot.

So, whaddya think?

Andy B.

Many unique, good names can be created by reversing the letters of other people in your family. For example, the name Nomar was invented by reversing the name Ramon. Try it out... maybe you'll come up with something that sounds good, and still be related to your family. It doesn't work with most names, but try it out anyway.

We've got the baby name books, and spent much time putting names together... but nothing has really clicked yet. Even our 4 year-old has given input, but her suggestions of "Magenta, or Nixon, or Truman, or Thomas" don't fit well.

Ok, I figure I'll put my $.02 into this discussion. You could always go with the ever popular Matthew (then again there are way too many of us already). There's also the appropriate Dean and Woody. Or if you want an odd name, just name him/her First. Ok, for more serious names, I've always liked Bethany. David's a good name for a guy. Basically don't pick anything that's really long or hard to spell.

Matt who realizes he's too young to need to think about baby names......
