Re: At least I'm not the only CUB fan

Engineer on team #111, Wildstang, from Rolling Meadows & Wheeling HS and Motorola. In Reply to: At least I'm not the only CUB fan Posted by Mike Carron on 03/30/2001 1:19 PM EST: Talk about torture - I went to 26 Cubs games in 1969 - ouch! Get this - It cost $1.00 to get into the bleachers or grandstand and seating was first-come-first-served. It cost $.12 for me to take the El train from the north to Addison St. (student pass). It cost $.25 for a hot dog and $.10 for a drink (7-up all the way - Dew didn't even exist). So the whole thing was about $2.00 per day. I remember a stretch of 2 weeks where I went to 10 games including 2 doubleheaders. Man, those were the days. Raul : Joe, : It's great to know that I'm not the only die-hard CUBBIE fan out there! Next week will be really great, opening day for the Cubs Monday and then the Nationals. Does it get any better than that?? : Later, : Mike Carron |
