Usually reliable sources tell me that General Motors has a member on FIRST's board of directors (once again).

Since Delphi was spun off from GM, GM's official sponsorship of FIRST has been in limbo.

When Delphi was part of GM, JT Battenberg III served 2 roles being GM's and Delphi's rep on the Board. After the spin off of Delphi, JT became President & CEO of Delphi AND he remained on FIRST's board.

With GM's president (Wagoner?) now on the FIRST board of directors, GM's status as a sponsor of FIRST seems to have been resolved in a favorable way.

Remember, you heard it here FIRST.

Joe J.

Joe, you are close. Ron Zarella is the GM executive who will be on the board.
