date to be shipped
Posted by Nick .
Student on team #240, Mach V, from Jefferson Monroe High School and Visteon. Posted on 9/26/2000 4:27 PM MST In regards to the date that the robots for the FIRST competition should be shipped (discussed September 12, 2000): I vote neither-- I see where you may be coming from, however- I think that those dedicated few who spend hundreds of hours working on robots and other preparations have enough stress already. Adding those seemingly few days (between 0 and 8), may be advantagious to the team but I fear for those who have jobs, families, schoolwork, spouses, children, and any other people involved in their lives (hopefully all of us). I feel that we should keep the six week build time as a maximum, not only would it give team members a small break; it would also give the added challenge of a shorter time limit (much as in real-life engineering tasks for many automobile manufacturers). |
