Smile Is a Limiter Switch allowed?

Hello guys,

Here's a question from team 820's engineers:

Is a Limiter Switch allowed?

(I'm actually not too sure what it is, but if you have any idea, please reply)

Thanks.

Limit switches are allowed, and I think this is what they're referring to. They basically send a 1 to the code when they are pressed, and a 0 when they are not (or vice versa, depending on how you have them wired). Check your manual. It talks about them in the Robot section under "Inputs" and explains how to wire them properly.

i believe there are limit switches provided in the kit if thats what your looking for. if a limiter switch is something different (and with my lack of knowledge it very well could be) then one of the other teams will need to answer this for you.

If limit switches aren't allowed, we're going to be the first team DQed...

Unpowered switches are an unlimited item. Read the robot rules and additional hardware lists

Reed switches (actuated with magnets) qualify.

Note: this year there were no reed or limit switches in the kit. you have to get them elsewhere.
