Cool plastic boxes

Seems to me I read somewhere that the boxes are riveted closed. Is this true? This doesn't sound good that teams are breaking the boxes. Duct tape is our friend.

the thing is its "illegal" to intentionally try to take the tops off. I think you get disqualified if ya do.

But the bigger problem of the boxes is not to accidentally take the lids off (and have the ref see it as intentional), rather accidentally breaking the boxes themselves and getting dqed. I sure hope none of the teams get dqed because of breaking the boxes after ramming into the wall during autonomous mode.

I think a DQ for that would occur if someone had made a device to ONLY take the tops off (and used it, of course) If you smash one into the wall, it would probably be considered an accident. Now if you did that to every bin, you'd be DQ'd. I doubt any DQ's for things like that will happen in autonomous mode (unless you designed your bot specifically for that)

First said this on their q/a which may be useful to your question.

"The Marson No. 58106 plastic rivets will be placed on each end of the long side of the container."

I hope that nobody will be DQ'd because of bad rivets or for any other reason.

Good Luck,

-Greg The Great
