How many balls in the goals?

The remote kickoff in Novi didn't have a full complement of balls (at least not while I could get near the goal). Did anyone in New Hampshire try to fill up a goal to see how many balls would fit in it? If so, could you please post this info?

Thanks,

Chris

The questioned was asked during kickoff of how many balls could fit in a goal. They didn't give an exact number but said that it should be over 40 (ie it doesn't matter, all the balls fit).

It matters very much for strategy. For instance, if our alliance can only control one goal, what is our maximum score possible? The maximum score depends on how many balls you can fit in one goal.

Like Matt said, the question was asked in NH and the answer was more then 40. There are only 20 balls on the field and a total of 10 in each alliance station.

Unless you are trying to do some type of wierd stacking, it doesn't matter if the goal can fit 50 balls or 200 balls, as there are only 40 balls on the field.

I was under the impression that there are actually 60 balls in the game.

That is, there are 10 in each player station, and an additional 20 per side of the playing field.

Am I mistaken, and there are only 10 balls per side?

There are 20 balls on each 'side' of the field. There are 0 balls on each 'end' of the field. Along with 10 in each player station, for a total of 60 balls.

Right so you can only have access to 50 balls because 10 of them are in the hands of the other alliance

Initially, you'd only have access to 50, but since the balls are 'neutral', you'd have access to the additional 10 balls when the opposing alliance decides to put them into play - if they decide to put them into play.

But if the goals are not team assigned then you can esentially gain control of all 60 balls at the end of the match, just pull all the goals with balls in it to your zone?

See... simple!

Ah, but then you're only going to get 60 points or so (10 x 2 robots).

Not so simple. The other alliance will probably not be that dumb. For all practical reasons, I can't see more than 40 balls being scored total anyway, unless some team has a ridiculously efficient harvester.

Ahhh....but I see nothing in the rules outlawing the use of Jedi mind tricks....so I would not rule out our controlling even those balls in the opposition player station!

(Gee...maybe I'm showing too much of our strategy....huh?)

I dunno.. I think we're gonna see some ridiculous harvesters... and there will be matches where every ball is scored (maybe not all i one goal mind you)... As the strategies develop more and more people will be one upping each other simply by going for more and more balls...

imho...
