UPDATE:

I dont know who actually reads this thread anymore, but just an update...WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL TEAM. Team 1353....and we are registered for the Canadian Regional, so watch out for us there.

Just wanted to say a supersized thank you to all those who took the time to help me in writing/editing my proposal. Thank you so very much. It really does mean a lot to me.

Great work, see you there. Introduce yourself to me when I come by and visit. Might even see your team at kickoff.

NEW RESOURCE MATERIALS AVAILABLE

We have just finished posting a whole series of resource materials on the FIRST website for anyone who has a meeting with a sponsor.

These can be found under the new section at the top called FOR VOLUNTEERS. The new web page is the Resource Center for Regional Directors and Committee Volunteers http://www.usfirst.org/volunteers/resourcectr/

A password is required to access this and I am happy to give it to anyone who needs it. Just email me at gsalp@aol.com. Each page is a combination of text and photos designed to help you sell FIRST to any potential sponsor.

I like to call them "pick up and go" pages because you can print off the ones you think will be most useful and take them with you! One is even a tri-fold brochure.

A variety of additional FRC Team Resources are available at http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/resources.htm including the Volunteers' Handbook which is a guide on how to approach a corporate sponsor, high school principal, etc.

Check it out. I think you will see the website is a great resource now.

New Resources look great!

These look awesome. We are currently developing a packet of information for fund raising and team promotion. These will be very helpful.
