What, if any, FIRST team or teams mentored your team:

We started before mentoring was fashionable. Besides there was only ourselves and Chatsworth west of the Rockies, and we didn't know about each other yet.
Yes, 82 was the number.

Also, there were teams west of rockies, but none in socal. Woodside started in '95, and several started in '96.

In a way we were mentored by Dave Lavery. But, I bet a large number of the early NASA teams could say that.

Story: Dave Lavery walks into our shop wearing jeans. One of the students whispers, "That's not what I expected", and Dave asks what did you expect. Student replies, "you know, a suit".

We then showed him our design, and he proceeded to tell us (very nicely) that it sucked. And that we were way behind schedule (Week 4 and not a single part built).
